Step 1- A moderator has the option to control the "chit chat" that is taking place in the Public Chat area. Use this feature, specifically, if you have users who are disrupting the webinar or online meeting by excessive chatting with others in the room. To enable this feature:
- From the menu bar, click on Administration
- Click on Moderated Text Chat
- A checkmark will appear
Please Note: Even though a moderator approves the text to appear in the Public Chat, this text will not appear in the recording.
Step 2- When a user types text to be entered into the Public Chat, it appears in the Public Chat of the Moderator only. Here, the moderator may choose to Approve, Deny or Mute.
- Approve allows the text to be displayed in the Public Chat for everyone to see
- Deny will erase the texted message and no one will see it
- Mute will stop that user from being able to type at all until moderator changes the status
Step 3- To disable this feature, go through the same process:
- From the menu bar, click on Administration
- Click on Moderated Text Chat
- The checkmark will now disappear and all texting will be allowed in the Public Chat again
