What is Full Duplex
This feature allows 2 moderators in a web conference room to speak simultaneously, just as on a telephone. The normal mode of speaking in VoIP web conferencing is with Half Duplex, similar to a "walkie talkie."
CAUTION: Currently, the person who has turned on Full Duplex and is speaking by holding down the F11 key or has engaged the "quick launch" icon, must turn the feature off before pressing down on the control key to speak. If not, your computer "Freezes" and you will have to leave the room and login again.
Step 1- From the Administration Tab of the menu bar, click on Configure Full Duplex.
Step 2- Click in the radio button to Enable. Then click on OK. When using this method, the 2nd speaker holds down the F11 key to speak, just as one would normally hold down the Control key when speaking.
Note: At the current time, the F11 key is the only Activation Key set for Full Duplex.
Step 3- The easiest method to enable Full Duplex is to click on the "quick launch" icon as shown above. This is a toggle button - press once to enable, press again to disable.
Step 4- After clicking on the "quick launch" icon to enable Full Duplex, the microphone area will turn red, indicating that the talk key has been "locked on." When the other speaker is finished, disable the Full Duplex before trying to use the Control Key again for speaking. See Caution note above.
